Episode 4: Brad Butcher


Brad Butcher is first and foremost a songwriter and his songs have been nominated for numerous awards in Australia in the past 7 years winning a Golden Guitar in 2018 as New Talent of the Year and in 2020 for Alternate Country album of the Year. In 2018 he also received the Queensland Music Award for Country  Song of the Year.
From his childhood days fishing the Pioneer River, his sporting years playing Rugby League in MacKay, working in coal mines as a crane operator and rigger, to touring the world as a musician, his stories commentate on reality, mental health, growing up in Central Queensland and the everyman daily grind. Buta bove all his songs share a message of hope and inspiration within.
He has toured Australia and the United States multiple times, even performing at the iconic Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and at The Bitter End in the Greenwich Village, New York City.
In 2016, while on tour to perform at the Toronto’s NXNE Festival, he has appeared on Canada’s prime time breakfast television show, Canada AM. He has graced the stage and supported some of the finest artists raised from the Australian soil, such as Troy Cassar-Daley, Busby Marou, Mark Seymour, Shane Nicholson, and has been on the road for the past couple of years in a co-headline tour with the wonderful Felicity Urquhart.
In 2019 released his 4th studio album, recorded and co-produced with the highly acclaimed and multi-award-winning Australian Producer Matt Fell. “Travelling Salesman” encompasses his take on an evolving country music landscape, a great blending of genres, to create a sound that is uniquely his.
